| Come and hear what Akka has to say! Date: 19th June 2009 Cost: $65 per person $600 table of 10 people |
First up, Jason spent a good hour with the South Launceston Clun Junior Teams. After having a great time with the kids (one question presented to the Premiership player was “are you a scruncher or a folder?) deep thinkers are our juniors), Jason was then presented to the senior players and was able to offer some good advice for their playing futures.
The “Main Event” was next where aka took the opportunity to relate his life story to those in the audience, this included a few sad events that happened during his life’s journey. This may be why he pulls no punches when it comes to question and answer time during media interviews.
For those who did attend, all enjoyed their night. Jason donated a pair of his football boots to the auction, which too place after question and answer time. The boots were snapped up by the Elmer family for $300.00. I left myself after a long day and night to see Aka still giving of his time at the bar.
A big thank you goes to Steve Williams from the Hotel Tasmania for being the Master or Ceremonies on the night and for providing the accommodation for Jason and his manager.
Once again, a big thank you to everyone who has been involved as volunteers in any capacity working to make these events successful, and also so those people who attended the functions.
Kind regards,
Mark Conroy (Doggie)
