South Launceston Football Club

The Northern Tasmania Junior Football Association was established in 1975 and was the brainchild of two men, Ian Tudor of City South and Peter Thurlow of Launceston. Recognising the need for a competition outside schools for junior footballers in the greater Launceston area, the association was establised and today 36 years on the competition is one of the strongest junior competitions is Tasmania.

In recognition of their work with junior football the South Launceston and Launceston Football Club's each year play for the Tudor Thurlow Cup in the under 16 age group. This year the match is being held at Windsor Park under lights commencing at 5:00pm on the 14th May immediately following the Launceston v South Launceston senior game. If you want a look at the future of these two clubs then it is well worth coming along to watch. After the match there will be a medal presentation for the best player from both teams and there will also be a free BBQ for players and coaches.

Congratulations to the South Launceston Under 16's who had a good win in the Tudor Thurlow Cup!
