Qualities of a Bulldog

All extracts from en.wikipedia.com

  1. Contrary to classic cartoon parodies and nicknames that depicted the bulldog as ferocious and wearing a spiked dog collar, the bulldog is not a vicious dog breed and gets along well with humans, including children, and usually other dog breeds.
  2. Bulldogs are very friendly and playful, while also being stubborn and protective. However, there is a trait of the bulldog that many don't realize. While the bulldog is known to be the most loyal, loving breed, not even the most docile breed will back down from a fight with another dog.
Hitting a bulldog once he is engaged in a fight will do no good whatsoever, because his body is totally engaged in the fight and his body feels no pain...
  3. Bulldogs require daily exercise. If not properly exercised the bulldog will gain weight, which could cause health problems. A properly exercised bulldog will exhibit a better temperament in its environment.
  4. Do you know why the English Bulldog has a jutting chin and sloping face? It is so he can breathe without letting go." Sir Winston Churchill.

So what can we learn from our mascot and namesake?

  1. Be Loyal.
  2. Train Hard (Exercise daily)
  3. Never give up in a fight
